Brief Information About The Aloe Vera Plant

It may appear like a cactus, but this semi-tropical plant is actually a lily. This short-stemmed, succulent plant can grow from 80 to 90 cm tall. It is easy to care for this plant and is best cultivated in frost-free, dry climate. Amazingly, it can survive for several months without rain. Thanks to its thick skin which protects that leaf against dehydration from being exposed directly to ultraviolet rays of the sun.

There are about 300 known species of aloe vera all throughout the world, but the one that is most beneficial to humans in the Aloe Barbadensis. LR makes use of the Aloe Barbadensis species in its many health and beauty products.

Is there a difference between Aloe Vera Products?

Yes. While a product can be advertised that it contains Aloe Vera, it does not always mean that the product contains variety, or the correct quantity of Aloe Vera Gel in its kind.

In recent years, given that the awareness of the benefits of Aloe has increased among consumer thinking, many manufacturers have added Aloe in their products in order to increase their sales, rarely however are they in a position to quantify legally on their label.

Read the label to see the ingredients being quantified in the product you purchase. If Aloe Vera is displayed in the lowest part of the list, the product more than likely contains a very small, useless, quantity of Aloe Vera. Research has shown that in order to be effective, most of the therapeutic products must contain at least 10% of Aloe Vera gel. The more the better.
